JOB DESCRIPTION
rnGeneral Purpose
rn• Plan, direct and co-ordinate the operations of a business, division, department or operating unit.
rn• Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency.
rn• Manage staff for optimum performance.
rnMain Job Tasks and Responsibilities
rn• determine staffing requirements
rn• hire and train new staff
rn• supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy
rn• apply strategic planning to determine company, department or unit objectives
rn• set employee goals and objectives
rn• develop staff to maximize potential
rn• monitor staff performance including performance reviews
rn• delegate work duties to staff to attain objectives
rn• allocate use of available resources
rn• monitor and assist staff with work progress
rn• evaluate current business processes and systems
rn• plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
rn• establish and maintain controls
rn• formulate department/unit policies and practices
rn• co-ordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
rn• facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports
rn• review performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
rn• responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals
rnEducation and Experience:
rn• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
rn• knowledge of business and management principles and practices
rn• knowledge of strategic planning
rn• knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
rn• knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
rn• knowledge of office administrative procedures
rn• proficient in relevant software applications
