rnWe are urgently looking for a Clinical Psychologist that can reduce the distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of their clients. They use psychological methods and research to make positive changes to their clients' lives and offer various forms of treatment.
rnThey work with clients of all ages who have a variety of different mental or physical health issues, such as:
rndepression and anxiety;
rnmental illness;
rnadjustment to physical illness;
rnneurological disorders;
rnaddictive behaviors;
rnchallenging behaviors;
rneating disorders;
rnpersonal and family relationship problems;
rnlearning disabilities.
rnClinical psychologists work in partnership with their clients over a series of sessions in order to diagnose, assess and manage their condition.
rnResponsibilities
rnassessing a client's needs, abilities or behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of behavior;
rnworking as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, social workers, education professionals, health visitors, psychiatrists and occupational therapists;
rndevising and monitoring appropriate treatment programmes, including therapy, counseling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues;
rnoffering therapy and treatments for difficulties relating to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, social and interpersonal problems and challenging behavior;
rndeveloping and evaluating service provision for clients;
rnproviding consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work;
rncounseling and supporting carers;
rncarrying out applied research, adding to the evidence base of practice in a variety of health-care settings.
