debt collector - Lagos Island

We are looking for a reliable Debt collector to contact debtors and claim outstanding debts towards their creditors. You will be responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible.

rnThis position can be stressful and difficult. A debt collector will have to be polite and sensitive towards people while also remaining committed to their purpose and persistent. Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency are extremely useful to succeed in this task.

rnResponsibilities:
rnKeep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
rnPlan course of action to recover outstanding payments
rnLocate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
rnNegotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
rnHandle questions or complaints
rnInvestigate and resolve discrepancies
rnCreate trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
rnUpdate account status and database regularly
rnAlert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
rnComply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable

rnRequirements:
rnProven experience as debt collector
rnExperience in working with targets and tight deadlines
rnKnowledge of relevant legal requirements
rnWorking knowledge of MS Office and databases
rnExcellent communication and people skills
rnApt in negotiating and persuading
rnAbility to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
rnprofessional certification will be an added advantage

rnA working experience of 3 years in a related field
rn
