Shipping Manager - Lagos Mainland

rnWe are looking for an experienced Shipping manager to manage daily shipping and distribution operations. You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.
rn
rnA successful shipping manager is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
rn
rnThe goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively.
rn
rnResponsibilities:
rn
rnUse software to track, check, prioritize and route orders
rnManage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading etc.
rnDirect the flow of packages from preparation to shipment
rnInspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders
rnSupervise and lead subordinates (receiving clerks, order pickers etc.)
rnControl budget of the shipping department
rnCollaborate with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes
rnResolve issues regarding shipped orders
rnEnsure compliance to legal regulations and company policies
rnReport to management on activities and issues
rn
rnRequirements:
rn
rnProven experience as shipping manager
rnSolid knowledge of logistics procedures
rnExperience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents (e.g. ASN)
rnComputer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
rnGood understanding of budgeting and reporting
rnExperience in directing and evaluating subordinates
rnExcellent organizational and communication skills
rnAttention to detail
rnProblem-solving abilities
rnHND; BSc/BA in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plus
