Architects - Ikeja

Architects stay involved throughout the construction process, adapting their plans according to budget constraints, environmental factors or client needs. As such, they operate as part of an overall project team; they work closely with a range of construction professionals from quantity surveyors to building services engineers.
rncreating building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications.
rnResponsibilities
rnliaising with construction professionals about the feasibility of potential projects
rnworking around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget
rnworking closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists
rnapplying for planning permission and advice from governmental new build and legal departments
rnwriting and presenting reports, proposals, applications and contracts
rnchoosing the materials to be used and specifying the requirements for the project
rn adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction
rnmaking sure the project is running according to schedule and budget
rnplaying a part in project and team management
rntravelling regularly to building sites, proposed locations and client meetings
rn
rnQUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIRED
rnProven working experience as an architect
rnStrong portfolio to prove artistic skills
rnExpert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
rnExcellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software (Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ or similar)
rnStrong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions
rnVisual awareness and an eye for detail
rnCommunication and project management skills
rnQualifications
rnB.sc/M.sc/Hnd in Architecture
