rnYouth workers are responsible for planning, organising and overseeing community programmes designed to redress inequalities and facilitate the personal, social and emotional development of young people between the ages of 11-25

rnJob Duties/Responsibilities
rn managing projects
rn planning and organising appropriate youth and community programmes
rn establishing new youth services
rn maintaining records
rn managing and administering budgets and resources
rn preparing and distributing publicity materials and displays
rn liaising and working with parents, schools, the police and other community groups/organisations
rn providing advocacy and counselling
rn recruiting, training and supervising volunteers and paid employees
rn undertaking detached ‘outreach' youth work
rn producing reports and business plans
rn giving presentations
rn promoting young people's interests
rn raising funds.
