Assistant Controller - Lagos Mainland

Responsibilities
rn
rnSupport most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
rnAssist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
rnAssist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
rnManage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
rnAssist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
rnParticipate in preparation for the annual audit
rnHelp in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
rnReview the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
rnUtilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
rnRequirements
rn
rnProven experience as assistant controller or other similar position
rnSolid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
rnExcellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
rnUnderstanding of data analysis and forecasting
rnWorking knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g. SAP)
rnWell-organized with ability to prioritize
rnVery good communication and interpersonal skills
rnAttention to detail and problem-solving ability
rnBSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred
rnProfessional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
