Graphic designers create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.They develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures,magazines, and corporate reports.

rnJob Duties/Responsibilities
rn Meet with clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project
rn Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience
rn Determine the message the design should portray
rn Create images that identify a product or convey a message
rn Develop graphics for product illustrations,logos, and websites
rn Select colors,images, text style, and layout
rn Present the design to clients or the art director
rn Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final design
rn Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
rn working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD);
rn proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
rn contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief;
rn demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches;
rn working on layouts and art working pages ready for print;
rn keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as In Design, Squareness, Free Hand, Illustrator, Photoshop,3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash;
rn developing interactive design;
rn commissioning illustrators and photographers;
rn working as part of a team with printers,copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
